Kilearn Hospital Scotland, 1945

Kilearn Hospital Scotland, 15th May 1945 >

Kilearn Hospital located 15 miles north from Glasgow Scotland. Due to his severe injuries following Monte Cassino dad spent the first few years of his UK life there.

Kilearn Hospital was built a safe distance from Glasgow as an Emergency Hospital in 1940.

I visited in 2017  whilst nearby in Glasgow to see for myself.

It is not too far from Loch Lomond and that whole area is beautiful, rolling hills, Lochs and pretty little villages.

If you are trying to recover its a lovely part of the world.

I understand there was a convalescence home on the shores of Loch Lomond, but I cant't find anything about that yet? I have been to Loch Lomand many times again fabulous location, very restful.

The hospital closed in the 1970's apparently. There are keep out signs everywhere due to Asbestos, which is a shame as I wanted to go and take some photographs, maybe to confirm these pictures are of the same location.

If you click the link below, there is quite some history behind its purpose.
