Name days and Birthdays double bonus

The luxury of 2 birthdays per year - jealous yet?

Two birthdays are better than One! In Poland you tend to celebrate your 'Name day' or Saints day rather than your actual birthday, but since I was born here, my family and Polish relations would celebrate my Name day St. Stanislaw whilst my English friends would celebrate my normal Birthday! Double bonus!
Of course mum and dad would also celebrate my real birthday too.
I loved my birthdays.
Mum would make a fantastic selection of food, and my friends would come and celebrate with me. Yes I had friends!
She baked a homemade birthday cake with candles on. I would get so excited (I still do today but its not quite the same!)
The parents would all chat - the music would go one, the Vodka came out (for the adults just to clarify). Fantastic.
I knew my parents didn't have much money, only my dad worked but I was humbled one birthday when he got me a Lego trainset! It was the best ever present (other maybe than the bike in the other blog!)
Happy times and 2 birthdays in the year, sadly I just have 1 now like everyone else. Not fair is it.
