Pandemic early Christmas 2020!
For the first time ever we have our Christmas tree in the house and almost completely decorated on 29th November!!
I have been in the loft and retrieved all the decorations most of which are up now.
This is the most bizarre year I have ever known?
The houses in the street already have Christmas lights out, usually I would look down at such things being a firm believer of keeping Christmas in December but like everyone else people have decided to get things done earlier? We are even considering ordering Duck for the meal this week to be ready in time? It's not even December!!!
With the risk of virus spread during Christmas we have decided to be sensible and stay home. It's not going to the same without visiting family or friends but for the sake of one Christmas I would rather take that hit and not have a third wave in the Spring? Everybody wants this to end, we have to make sacrifices for that to happen?
But will the tree survive before Christmas Day? I will be on water top up duty with extra vigour this time?
More decorations to go and the Star is a bit top heavy I might have to consider alternatives?
I have to say not one of my favourite decorations it looks like something Melania Trump would have designed in a dead of winter kind of vibe?
More Christmas tatt but it does brighten the place up a bit with some glitter.
Thankfully I purchase my AA and AAA batteries in bulk from Costco in advance!
I probably have enough to power a small substation.
The door baubles are out and illuminated tree (sigh)
Should I celebrate Christmas eve maybe next week instead? No we shall still have the traditional Polish Christmas Eve supper (see last years blog), although we might have to cut back on some food, but lets see?
I was going to wish you a Merry Christmas but frankly it's far too early so lets hold off till its time.
