The indoor pandemic life continues

The indoor pandemic life continues - or how not to go mad at home!

It's already June 2020 around 2-3 months since the pandemic took hold in the UK.

Look that's my new auto-dimming Aldi welding mask - cool eh who would have thought a few weeks later it would be the perfect personal protective equipment!

This horrible virus has taken so much from everyone., in some ways I am glad mum didn't have to go through this.

Here at Krawczyk Towers, we had the infection quite early on, it was thankfully mild for us.
I am still not 100% sure if we got rid of it, are super spreaders or if we really had it at all? One day when decent tests are available we should find out?

Generally we have been avoiding shops/supermarkets and so on. Most stuff has been delivered and we still use the veggie box delivery if we run out.

My previously purchased 16kg bag of flour, I have been using like a baker possessed!!

'I must use it up' has been my mantra, now after only 2 months I am down to 4 Kilner jars ! I may have to buy more and yes it will be a 16kg bag again, this time Costco has plenty of the stuff in so I am fine.

Other than wanting to go somewhere like the country or seaside, we have managed to keep our sanity.

I am so glad we moved into this house. It has the space and enough work to keep me busy and away from my works computer screen.  Look at my achievements so far!
  • I painted the gates.
  • Tiled, painted and finished off the porch - be gone 1970's quarry tiles!!
  • Ordered skip and threw a tonne of old stuff we never used and freed up loft, junkroom and garage space.
  • Fitted new house sign (yes not exactly taxing but it means I don't have to go anywhere, purchased online.)
  • New lights in garage so I can see where I left that tin of paint I forgot about last year which is now a hard lump inside.
  • Cut some large branches and bushes and weeds from the garden, skips are good!
  • Fitted new lights in the garden, it looks like a Greek Taverna at night, maybe they are too energy efficient!
  • Sorted out ebay stuff, now that number 1 child is suddenly growing , she doesn't like teddies anymore! Aaagh!
  • Home brewing stout.
  • Baking sourdough, bagels, banana bread, flat bread and more.
  • Study for exams to do with work, however motivation very low on that one, think I am getting past my sell by date.
  • Fixed some bits on the car due to the great weather we had in May and no doubt more to come.
  • Managed to continue my running, hard as it is. I tend to walk faster than I run which is a concern.
  • Home hair cuts! Yes I purchased cordless hair trimmers, not too bad won't be going back to the barbers now! ha!
The worse thing is home educating my daughter, my wife is excellent at it, I am not. Then its so hard to get her motivated and not distracted to actually sit down and do it. The moment I walk away she has stopped and is doing something else.

Sounds like me at primary school.
The 3 Musketeers, Damien, Tony and me, easily distracted and not listening to Mister Stevens!

So far so good other than an odd cold and seasonal sniffles we carry on as normal as we can.

I am so fortunate my job is remote support anyway through t'internet, so its not really a big change for me, but I do miss the interaction with people in the office and customers.

Hopefully soon we will be allowed to get back to some normality but I doubt that will happen anytime soon and not for at least another year. I pray they find some vaccine or a way to stop this virus in its tracks.

Stay safe look after your family and friends.

Now laugh at my pictures........
Spring half term week before the virus, we managed to get to the Old Man of Storr on Skye. Blowing a gale but so glad we went. Our last outing.
Our Greek Taverna - good innit peeps!
Back from a short run in torrential rain! You cant tell from that picture but I am soaked, that running jacket not very waterproof either.
Here I am Mister Happy writing pointless blogs to pass the time.
Number 3 self hair cut! See not that bad is it, at least the greys hide better!
