A tribute to Pan and Pani Zarzecki

Mr Kazimierz and Mrs Antonina Zarzecki

Pan Zarzecki on the left and Pani Zarzecka on the right, 2 really nice people and life long friends of the family.
Kazimierz worked in Remploy with my father and I think Antonina did also, it feels so strange to call them by their first names!
They lived just up the road from us and would occasionally pop round for lunch on Sunday's.
Pani Zarzecka was just the nicest person you could meet, very kind and I always ended up getting a massive kiss on the cheeks when she saw me!
I really don't remember much of their history before but they were a nice couple. I remember he hobbled along probably a war wound in his leg, working at Remploy everyone had some scar from the War although they did their best to hide and never talk about it.
The above photo is Sunday after mass. Observe the Sunday best outfits and looking very late 1970's Terry and June style! Kipper ties were king in those days. In fact I know exactly where that road is!
Below my dad in the back and Pan Zarzecki at Remploy, not long I think before they both retired?
Dad and Pani Zarzecka one sunny day.
Pani Gotkowicz, Pani Zarzecka at her home and mum, early 2000's I would say.
Pani Zarzecka outside her house, sadly her husband passed away suddenly in the early 90's but she lived on until 2007.
A really lovely lady I cant stress that enough. She helped my mum when she was feeling alone, they helped each other out.
She taught my mum how to cook my all time favourite cake (see the Master Chef blog) and was just the gentlest person you could ever meet.
Thank you for everything but no more kisses please!!!
