Polish TV and films

Polish Cinema has been around for decades but it wasn't until more recent times before it was recognised.
I am no expert but thought I would drop these few in as I find them. I will add more as time goes by.
Taking a guess I am thinking Polish productions are quite cheap to make hence Netflix investment, much the same way Canada is for American productions because of the tax breaks etc.
With the advent of online streaming services I came across a few Serials on Netflix which are Polish Production.
I have to say its a good way for me to practise my Polish language. I don't really speak Polish much to anyone these days unless I meet the obligatory Pole working in a hotel or cafe in the UK.
After many years the WW2 Polish Pilots finally get some recognition with the film Hurricane.

Its worth a watch.
You can see it on Netflix and I think Amazon too?
A TV series called 1983
is based on the premise that the Berlin wall never fell, Solidarity never happened and Communism continued on to the present day in Poland. (Almost Man in a High Castle style?)

Its very dark its actually very well filmed, very gritty quite frightening to think how things can go?
The constant identity checks and spying was very much Stazi like.
Worth a watch good acting. This is a Netflix Polish production.
Another Polish /Netflix production is Ultraviolet, set in Lodz, follows Ola who is a taxi driver but gets involved with an online community that helps to solve crimes.

Its a clever little idea, its not exactly high brow but its no worse than the average knocked out en mass American stuff!
Because its Lodz I am watching intently to see how its changed, of course everyone has brand new cars and latest mobiles etc. Progress eh?
